About us
The Council of Radiopharmaceutical Sciences, Japanese Society of Nuclear Medicine (CRS-JSNM) pursues its mission to promote and disseminate basic and clinical research on radiopharmaceutical science, thereby contributing to the advancement of science and culture and to the improvement of human health and welfare and working for international cooperation. For the purpose, we organize research seminars and collaborate with international societies to exchange scientific information and ideas.
Purpose of establishment
Our purpose is to promote and disseminate basic and clinical research on radiopharmaceutical science, thereby contributing to the advancement of science and culture and to the improvement of human health and welfare and working for international cooperation. The CRS-JSNM was established to meet the following needs.
- In the international activities of the Japanese Society of Nuclear Medicine (JSNM), there are many issues related to radiopharmaceuticals. To deal with the issues, a subcommittee (council) on radiopharmaceuticals is necessary within the Nuclear Medicine Society.
- In recent years, the clinical application of radionuclide therapy (internal radiotherapy) has progressed, and there are great expectations for basic studies on radionuclide therapy and theranostics (integration of therapeutics and diagnostics). To activate these studies, a subcommittee (council) that covers both radiopharmaceutical studies for diagnosis and treatment is required.
Our Activities
- Organizing research seminars.
- Publication and distribution of newsletters and other materials (including those in electronic media).
- Collaboration with international societies to exchange scientific information and ideas.
- Other projects necessary to achieve the purpose of the Council.
We will work in collaboration with other research groups related to radiopharmaceutical sciences, diagnostic (molecular) imaging, radiochemistry etc.
